In the early 80’s, I found myself on Tasmania’s Western Coast, disconnected from technology and surrounded only by waves and stars.
Each day, we relished perfect surf and, come nightfall, eagerly anticipated the emergence of the perfectly lit stars amid the black expanse of space.
Without any city lights for miles, we camped beneath the stunning night sky and watched with awe as the galaxy unfolded before us.
This experience cemented a deep appreciation for the natural world onto my soul.
Recently, I traveled to California’s Mojave Desert in search of a breathtaking shot of the Milky Way spanning the width of the desert, framed by a Joshua Tree in the foreground.
As I waited for the perfect moment, the echoes of coyote howls filled the air and the world seemed to come alive.
It wasn’t until around 2 a.m. that I captured the incredible shot I had envisioned when I first stepped foot in Joshua tree.
I am filled with deep gratitude for the moments of solitude that allow me to fully immerse myself in the awe-inspiring beauty of Creation.
I hope this photo inspires you look up in the dark of night. The beauty of the light is overwhelming.
