Recently I was commissioned to create a body of work for a local hospital in La Jolla that would heal and inspire the patients while refreshing its staff
My team and I have been learning a lot lately about the kind of art that heals. According to studies, the universal elements for an image to be considered beautiful are open spaces of nature with grass, trees, and sky. When water is introduced, the desirability of the image skyrockets!
One of my favorites from the Torrey Pines collection is a piece I am featuring in my galleries this month, called Torrey Pines Bridge Sunset. There were three consecutive days last winter that had this extraordinary sunset. I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time.
I am also making this image the cover fifth edition of my best selling gallery book, San Diego, through the lens of Aaron Chang.
I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to make a difference in people’s lives with my work. Whether in a hospital, a business, a home, or even in this email or on Facebook, everyone’s day is better with art that inspires.
I put together a video of my work around Torrey Pines. As always, I’d love to know your thoughts.
