“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”

Ansel Adams

In 2013, I was invited to be a part of the On the Trail of Ansel Adams exhibit at the San Diego Natural History Museum. It was a real honor. Ansel has always been one of my inspirations. The depth of his black and white photos are second to none.

To pay homage to Ansel, an American icon and source of personal inspiration, I have curated a selection of my new and classic black and white ocean photography that draws from his composition, attention to detail and overall feeling of being there. It is my hope that this selection inspires you to see and feel the awe and wonder of the ocean.

To celebrate, I would like to invite you to an opening featuring a collection of Ansel-inspired work at my gallery in Solana Beach on Friday, July 21st from 5-8 and in my downtown San Diego gallery on Saturday, July 22nd from 7-10.

I hope you are able to join me for this opening to see these black & whites printed in the tradition of Ansel Adams.
