INTRODUCING MAGNUM

I’ve often thought of the creative process with the visualization of a tree.
The main images are the ones you are mostly known for. For me it was super sharp, tight, high action images of perfect waves and great surfing.
In the creative process, as you mature and the tree starts to grow and branches out, different things begin to develop.
Recently, I started to let things move in the frame. This is a new process, which is very different from a lifetime of tack-sharp photos. It is exciting to explore. You can see this technique in one of my newer works, Rose Quartz.
In this new release, Magnum, the beauty and intrigue is in the color palette - the movement of the morning sun reflected in the face of the wave looks like jagged brush strokes up the glassy surface.
A tonal, monochromatic palette prevails until the churning pit of the wave, which displays a stunning array of blues before it releases its power and it moves to shore.
The effect of capturing movement in the frame is the ability of the viewer to experience the moment more fully.
It’s my hope that Magnum brings energy and life to your space, reminding you of the beauty, power and elegance of the ocean.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Aaron Chang
Aaron Chang is an American-born artist, known for his exceptional ocean photography and stunning visual art. An internationally acclaimed artist, Chang has collectors all over the world and his work has been published in hundreds of books and magazines. Respected as a creative force who helped visually define the sport of surfing, Aaron spent 25 years as a senior photographer at Surfing magazine, traveling to the far reaches of the globe. During this time, Chang set new standards for modern ocean photography.
Interwoven throughout Aaron’s career, have been years of commercial photography work, partnering with top art directors and design agencies all over the world. The campaigns were multi-tiered, spanning from branding to marketing to advertising. This experience has facilitated Aaron’s ability to produce and direct on many levels from the creation of his iconic photography to directing teams to execute his vision to producing his art on an array of mediums.
Today, as a fine art photographer and in-demand commissionable artist, Aaron owns two thriving art galleries that feature his work, while creating custom collections for clients worldwide. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Since we custom make the art to your exact specifications, please allow 3-4 weeks for Fine Art orders and 3-4 months for surfboards for production and delivery time.
Shipping is calculated by adding the cost of the custom wood shipping crate and the transportation fees which are based on the weight and size of your art.

A facemounted photograph is a photographic print laminated with the face of the print (top) facing the back of a sheet of acrylic.
