Introducing the First Value Finish in 10 Years of Business!
By: Aaron Chang
Today I’d like to discuss a new value finish we are adding to our options here at the gallery and online, called The Float, which is available throughout my collection at 30% less than our premium Face mounting finish.
Ready for some technical details? Here we go:
What we do in our galleries is present photographic art printed on true photographic paper.
What does that mean?
It means the prints are optically printed onto photographic paper. The crystals in the paper react to the light as they are processed with chemistry in our photo lab.
Why is that important?
If you spray ink on paper with an ink jet printer, you get hundreds of shades of colors.
When you print something optically, you get billions of shades of color. This is most evident in the blue tones, which is the majority of my work and the most difficult color to reproduce.
Our typical presentation is optically printed photographic paper mounted to an acrylic face. The result is a clarity and depth of color that you just don’t see in any other form of printing. The face-mounted print is the premium presentation for my work.
I’m excited to introduce an alternative value finish that’s available throughout my entire collection of work, called The Float Finish. It’s the same beautiful photographic paper, laminated with a crystalline laminate, mounted to a wood substrate.
The beauty of The Float Finish is the same high-quality photographic look, the same collectible edition, but at a dramatically lower price than acrylic. The Float can be created with any image in my collection, from a 24 inches piece to 10 feet and beyond.
In addition, the Float Finish solves for the excessive glare in some situations that are excessively bright.
… and all at 30% less than our premium face mount finish.
At this price point, it allows you to stretch your budget and go bigger than you had originally planned.
It’s my hope that this new finish allows you to surround yourself with art that inspires you.Shop the Fine Art Collection
